12 police leaders write open letter to West Michigan after national controversies

The full text of their letter to the editor, released to MLive and The Grand Rapids Press, is provided in the link below.

The letter also comes as police nationwide undergo scrutiny for shootings of black suspects, exposing, in some places, distrust between police and the communities they serve.

Welcome Note
Welcome to a great, historic, and moving-forward business district.  DABA has been working hard for over 10 years and we have seen our work pay-off.  We have businesses like Godwin Hardware, Tommy Brann's Steakhouse & Grille, Metro Motors, and many more.  Our businesses range from big (like McDonalds) to small (like Engles Jewelers).  Big or small, we worked hard together to form the DABA and we hope more businesses will join us.
