A Letter from Timothy Cochran Concerning Form Based Code Zoning
Dear Property Owner or Occupant
The City of Wyoming is initiating the rezoning of Division Avenue from Alger Street to 60th Street (see map). Commercial properties fronting upon Division Avenue are proposed to be rezoned to Form Based Code (FBC). A presentation on the FBC can be found at:
FBC zoning would continue to allow commercial and office uses, but would also accommodate mixed use and residential developments. Buildings constructed under the FBC would be placed closer to Division Avenue and would incorporate a higher quality of façade treatments. The FBC rezoning would provide greater opportunity for redevelopment and investments with the intention of reinvigorating the corridor. Greater walkability and enhanced streetscapes are also desired.
Commercial property owners along the corridor, and residential property owners within 600 feet of the properties proposed to be rezoned, are invited to attend a public meeting on September 26, 2016 at the Wyoming Senior Center at 2380 DeHoop Avenue at 6:00 P.M. The meeting will provide information regarding the purpose and scope of the proposed FBC rezoning and allow for questions. This meeting is a prelude to a soon, but currently unscheduled, public hearing with the Planning Commission. Those receiving this notice will also receive notice of the Planning Commission hearing.
